Abstract

The article discusses the resignation, retirement and potential return of teachers in the U.S. to in-person instruction in the midst of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Topics explored include the response of teachers to the possible reopening of schools despite the pandemic, the variation in teacher attrition rates recorded, and the COVID-19 risk in elderly public school teachers.
