From the report: “The three‑year evaluation found that Illinois’ SEL Hubs, REACH, and Community Partnership Grants collectively supported widespread SEL implementation during pandemic recovery. Analyses revealed small but significant associations between SEL Hub engagement and higher math achievement, lower chronic absenteeism, and higher teacher retention. Regional infrastructure, leadership buy‑in, and SEL coaches emerged as key drivers of implementation success, while staffing shortages, political context, and limited time were persistent barriers.”
