As the K–12 education system emerges from the unprecedented disruption of the COVID-19 pandemic, schools and districts across the country are still in the process of recovery and adaptation. This moment calls for thoughtful reflection on how we might better prepare for and respond to future disruptions, whether global pandemics or more localized crises such as natural disasters, community emergencies, or regional health events. While we hope to never experience another crisis of this scale, the lessons learned during the COVID-19 pandemic offer valuable guidance for navigating other types of disruptions."
